The Bradford Youth Choir
The Choir was made up of 30 young people aged between 10 - 16 years, who came together from Bradford and Halifax. Many were from different parts of the cities, different backgrounds and different ethnicities, so it was truly an album with an Urban flavour!

After weeks of preparation, planning and discussions with Steve and Vel Thompson of Beracah Music International/City Music Academy, a week long intensive training programme took place during the Summer in 2006. As the majority of the young people did not know each other before the week, lots of time was devoted to team-building activites as well as vocal training and rehearsing the songs in preparation for the Recording Studio!
The majority of recording for the album took place on Saturday 5th August 2006 at Soundworks Studio in Leeds! The young people did incredibly well to record so many songs in such a short space of time - true proof that all involved had worked incredibly hard!
It was fantastic to involve so many different young people in the album, especially as in recent years Bradford has experienced strains within the community. The album was an excellent opportunity to bring together young people from across the city, representing a variety of backgrounds and experiences. We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part - well done!
