Over 300 delegates gathered on the beautiful grounds of Shocco Springs in Talladega, Alabama, for Roots South 2007. The theme "Dance Upon Injustice" brought us closer to the heart of God. Each venue turned our attention toward those who suffer immeasurably around our world and called each one into action. We were challenged to fight, fight, fight to the very end. The inspired speakers included Majors Richard and Janet Munn from the Eastern Territory, Aaron and Cheri White from Vancouver and our very own Territorial Commander, Commissioner Max Feener.Graham Kendrick's band returned to lead us into God's presence with praise and worship, dancing and much celebration.
The schedule of events held something for everyone, including exciting and educational programs for the children and teens. The youth venues focused on injustice issues age appropriately, while Transmission led them in their worship experience ... and dance they did. The break out sessions, or streams, were designed to inspire and educate. This was accomplished through presenters and topics such as, "A Prayer Answering God"- Major Mike Hawley, "Breaking the Addictions" - Heather and Rob Dolby, "It is time for an Adult Conversation about Discipleship" - Lt. Colonels William and LaVerne Crabson. Other streams included, "Helping the Poverty Stricken" - Bob and Vickie Poff and "Dancing on Injustice" - Majors Richard and Janet Munn (among others).
We anticipated the outpouring of His Spirit to fill us and resonate through our hearts and minds. The "Dance" was that and more. As we retuened home, were were motivated to make a difference in our own communities. We will not be able to see, hear, taste or smell injustice and sit idly by any longer, for we will surely stand up and "Dance Upon Injustice!".
