Come To The Light - Germany
After many years (seventeen!!), Steve returned to Lüdenscheid, Germany (where he lived for six months). The organisation, FCJG (Freie Christliche Jugend Gemeinschaft) is lead by Steve & Vel's good friend, Walter Heinderick. He and his wife Irene started the mission 30 years ago reaching out to the drug addicts and poorer people in the area.
Steve & Vel travelled to 'Come To The Light' to lead worship with Graham Kendrick & band. The weekend event was shared with the band 'Tengerin doo' based in Lüdencscheid.
FCJG have just celebrated their 30th Anniversary. Walter reminded Steve that his first band, 'Revelation' played at their missions' 10th Anniversary celebration. (Many years ago!!).
Come to the Light
In the past 10 years approx. 2,000 people from all parts of Germany and until now over 20 other nations have gathered together twice a year to celebrate Jesus, to seek an encounter with the supernatural, hungry for an encounter with the living God.
Since 1994 over 50,000 visitors have attended this special worship event, which is unique of its kind. There is something special about 'Come to the Light' and that is: there is no programme at all. Instead: Together we worship God with contemporary music.
Christians from all denominations and people who are not yet believers come together and just join in.
This was an extremely successful trip seeing many make decisions for the first time as well as a recommitment to the faith.
