DESCRIPTION:About Urban Colours\n \n \n After delivering Christian leaflets in the area, Angela Caley, Youth Work\n Co-ordinator at The Salvation Army's Bradford Holmewood Corps, felt the\n medium of music would be a more effective way of communicating the gospel\n to local young people.\n \n \n After weeks of preparation, planning and discussions with Steve and Vel\n Thompson of Beracah Music International/City Music Academy, 30 young people\n aged 11-18 came from across Bradford, Halifax & Leeds to participate in\n Urban Colours. This RnB music project gave young people the opportunity to\n learn songs, receive vocal training, participate in team building\n activities and record an album.\n \n \n \n Angela says, "Self-esteem is so low among many people in society today that\n we wanted the album to express to non-Christians how precious they are to\n God, and that no matter what they've done or what they've been through, God\n can be their hope."\n \n \n In recent years Bradford has experienced strains within the community, and\n the album is seen as an opportunity to bring together young people from\n across the city, representing a variety of backgrounds and experiences.
