Chinese Album Phase Two

Day 6

Saturday 20th September 2008 10:16 PM

This really has truly been the most awesome day! The recording of the choir! We all arrived at Paul & Fancy's church (well actually not their church - the church where they attend) at 10.00 and on arrival you could hear the sound of music playing in the background as the choir members arrived. Some as far as two hours drive.

We organised for the choir members to move around getting to know each other. You could sense that this was going to be a great day! In particular it was great meeting the choir from Pasadena (left). (We were able to pray and bless them before they departed.

Francy organised for the team to get into small groups to pray - beautiful atmosphere! After the briefing and Pastor Paul and I sharing a word with the team, we launched into what was destined to be a successful day.

Today I was working with a new engineer, Long (Right) is his name and he is from Vietnam! We had a few scary moments with the different formatted drives and different version of Protools (recording software).

I am sure Long will never forget this session. First of all we were surprised that the Mac formatted drive worked on the PC and secondly, that all files could be read.

During the day, we had a children's' choir join us. I was not sure how this would turn out, but mentioned to Francy that I really would love to have children's voice on one of the songs.

Well, Francy wasted no time at all, but organised a children's choir, pretty much 'over night'. They have to be the cutest Chinese children I have ever seen and they did so well. (Jessica, one of the backing vocalists, brought in her two daughters, as did Alan (also backing vocalist - bringing in his sons!

During the break, all the men created a massage line - I could not help but join this line. Before knowing what was happening, I was 'gently' pushed to the front of the line.

The men then told me to sit down and they introduced me to someone who actually does massages professionally, I saw his hands disappear as they sunk deep into my shoulders and back!

A friend's daughter, Melissa who is studying in USA has been spending a few days with us. I invited the masseuse to massage her back. By looking at Melissa's face, you will she how her face articulates the pain I felt, but tried to hide it best I could - with all these strong Chinese men watching!

Once again, I have met some new Chinese brothers and sisters! What a day, filled with hard work, laughter, worship and a sense of destiny!

Our plan was to start the Choir recording at 10.00an until 6.30pm. We finished at 6.32pm. The choir was so much fun to work with. The presence of God and the pure act of worship sustained us throughout the day - as well as the familiar intercessors' serving hands and prayers.

Now tomorrow, we anticipate the actual live recording!
