Chinese Album Phase Two
Day 3
Wednesday 17th September 2008 10:24 AM
Now this has to be one of the best days of recording in many, many years (I know I sound old). We headed over to a large studio (Firehouse Recording Studio) in Pasadena to record the string orchestra.
This was my first time recording at this particular studio. They gave us the main studio and my string conductor was able to negotiate a very good price (thanks Mark - what a cool dude as well)!
We were not able to take pictures of the 'top players' in LA for legal reasons, but we really could see God's favour throughout the entire recording. What an awesome string sound! I usually record my strings in Prague, so this was the first time recording Strings in USA. Good decision!
The two engineers (pictured above) were incredibly professional.
One of the highlights was being able to Skype some of the session to the City Gates Worship team rehearsal - straight unto the big screen (love you guys and miss you!). Vel, who was leading the rehearsal, was able to meet the engineers in the studio and I was able to introduce the string players to our team. Now, how cool was that!
